Sarah Shah

As Senior Director of Strategic Communications and Partnerships at Impact, Sarah Shah leads and executes the organization’s communications strategy across traditional and digital channels. She also cultivates and manages partnerships with external organizations and community leaders, driving collaboration through events and coalition-building.

Before joining Impact in March 2021, Sarah brought extensive experience in community and electoral organizing, policy analysis, and education. During the 2020 campaign cycle, she worked on political campaigns in Georgia and North Carolina, focusing on mobilizing communities and building grassroots engagement. Earlier in her career, Sarah worked in the education and nonprofit sectors, advancing initiatives to close opportunity gaps and support underserved communities.

Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Masters in Public Policy from Duke University, though her heart bleeds Carolina Blue. Sarah lives in Durham, NC with her husband, toddler Zaarav, and two dogs.
