Indian American Impact’s Statement on Inauguration Day

Washington, D.C. — Indian American Impact’s Executive Director, Chintan Patel, issued the following statement on the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States:

Today, while we honor the enduring tradition of the peaceful transfer of power–a cornerstone of our democratic values–we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the rights and freedoms of all Americans.

The racism and xenophobia unleashed by the MAGA movement is deeply troubling, especially for communities of color, immigrants, and other marginalized groups. As South Asian Americans, we recognize the urgency of standing against extremism in all its forms and defending the values of inclusion, equality, and justice.

Indian American Impact is resolute in its mission to build a more just and equitable future for all. We will continue to mobilize our community, hold leaders accountable, and push for solutions that move us toward a society that lives up to its highest ideals.”
