Indian American Impact Fund Congratulates Kannan Srinivasan and JJ Singh on Victories in Virginia Special Election
Loudoun County, VA — The Indian American Impact Fund celebrates the historic victories of Kannan Srinivasan and JJ Singh in Virginia’s special elections. Srinivasan has won the Senate District 32 seat, while Singh has secured the Virginia House District 26 seat. These wins mark significant milestones for South Asian American leadership in Virginia politics.
Chintan Patel, Executive Director of the Indian American Impact Fund, shared the following statement:
“We are thrilled to congratulate Kannan Srinivasan and JJ Singh on their victories in the VA special election, which secured Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate. We are deeply grateful to the large South Asian constituency whose support propelled them to power.
Virginia has shown it is not going back—in this first election post-Trump, our state is proving to be a counterweight to the MAGA agenda. Together, JJ and Kannan will fight in Richmond to protect reproductive freedoms, combat gun violence, and lower costs for families. We look forward to supporting them as they work to build a more equitable and inclusive Virginia.”Since its inception in 2016, Indian American Impact Fund has endorsed and supported 191 candidates across the country, contributing to the historic rise of Indian and South Asian American representation in politics. Through strategic investments and grassroots organizing, Impact has marshaled upwards of $20 million to candidates and robust voter mobilization and policy advocacy efforts, amplifying the voices of South Asian Americans and driving positive change in communities nationwide.
