Harris leads Trump by nearly 50 points amongst South Asian Voters in Battleground States

Indian American Impact Fund releases first-ever battleground poll of South Asian voters – a voting bloc consisting of 400,000+ eligible voters in the battlegrounds

Washington, DC —  Today, Indian American Impact Fund, a leading national political organization representing Indian and South Asian American communities, released findings from the first-ever poll of South Asian voters in battleground states. The poll shows Vice President Harris with a commanding lead over Donald Trump among South Asian voters, and an electorate that is highly motivated to vote for Harris.

Below are key findings from the survey of 600 South Asian likely general election voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

  • Vice President Harris leads Donald Trump by 48% in these key states.
  • Harris voters hold a motivation advantage over Trump supporters. On a 0 to 10 scale, where 10 means extremely motivated and 0 means not at all motivated, 80% of Harris voters say they are extremely motivated (10) to vote in this election compared to 66% of Trump voters saying the same.
  • Inflation and the economy and abortion are top of mind in this election, with the South Asian electorate remaining firmly pro-choice. 76% say abortion should be legal all or most of the time.
  • Harris is trusted over Trump on key issues, even traditional Republican domains. Across a broad spectrum of issues, Harris is trusted more than Trump by at least 2-to-1.

With more than 400,000 eligible South Asian voters in states like PA, MI, GA, NC, and AZ, this community is poised to make the margin of difference in what will likely be a razor-thin election. Read the full memo HERE.
