Tonight’s Debate Will Make Clear: Only One Candidate Will Deliver for South Asians and All Americans

Philadelphia, PA— Today, Indian American Impact Fund, a leading national political organization and prominent voice for Indian and South Asian Americans, highlights that tonight’s presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will present a clear choice for the South Asian American community: a vision of inclusion and progress versus one of division and self-interest.

Chintan Patel, Executive Director of Indian American Impact Fund, shared the following statement:

“Tonight’s debate is an important moment for our community to see the stark differences between the two candidates. Donald Trump will likely employ his usual tactics of spreading lies and using divisive rhetoric while promoting his extreme ‘Project 2025’ agenda, which threatens to undermine vital protections like reproductive rights and affordable healthcare—all of which are crucial to South Asian American families.”

In contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris offers a forward-looking vision centered on economic opportunity, protecting freedoms, and justice for all. As the first Vice President of Indian descent, Harris has consistently delivered for our communities on key issues like healthcare, gun control, immigration reform, and small business support. Tonight, we will see clearly that only one candidate on stage is truly committed to improving the lives of all Americans.”

Indian American Impact volunteers are hosting debate watch parties across the country and the organization has created a debate toolkit with culturally tailored content to engage South Asian Americans in meaningful discussions about what is at stake in this election.
